The basics:
I was born in 1972 and raised in and around Chicago,
and I've lived on the North Side for 10 years.
I run and write Intellectualbabe.com, which is updated when you least expect it.
I spent my adolescence doing theater (my
finest moment coming when I starred as Dodo the Clown in "The Clown Out
West"), writing a humorous column for the school newspaper, and managing the
radio station.
I attended Columbia College of Chicago, a
fine arts school, until I got tired of doing homework and being around all
those goddamned actors. While at Columbia, I studied improvisation
with Second City Training Center co-founder, the late Martin deMaat, and
learned how to eat fire. In 1992, I made my national basic cable debut
on Comedy Central's "Night After Night with Allan Havey", and in 1998 wrote
and performed a one-person show, "David Duchovny: Or the Socio-Economic
Implications of a Celebrity-Hungry Society".
Recently, I was a judge of entries for the
Digital Visions Film Festival, which was held in Chicago in September of
2002.
When I'm not cranking out insurance claims, I
can be found writing screenplays, reading a lot of books and magazines,
playing guitar and bass, traveling, drawing, hanging with friends and
family, and indulging in my strange habit of collecting sombreros.
