Story
A Tale of Jealousy
I have been in a great relationship
for nearly a year now. A few days ago I had my first experience of
feeling very jealous. A guy went to see my girlfriend and her roommate
and stayed and talked to them for over 5 hours. I found about all this
and I was furious. How could she spend all this time talking to this
guy? What is she trying to do? I even asked her if she mentioned
me in the conversation.
What am I thinking? She did no
wrong. She simply had a plutonic conversation with someone of the
opposite sex and I start off on this feeling that she is going to cheat on
me. After a day, I calmed down and realized that I am suffering from
the ‘Holden Complex’, sat down, re-evaluated everything and realized that I
have nothing to fear. Damn jealousy. Damn it and the horse it
came in on too.
Rant
Cell Phones
I can’t stand cell phones. Some
people say it is because I don’t own one and I’m just jealous. That is
not the case at all. I don’t have this complex where I feel that I am
so important that I need to be contacted at all times. I go to school
in a big college town and I’m sick of walking past students talking to one
of their friends as they are walking on the streets. I can understand
the use of cell phones to make long distance phone calls cheaper…or for
someone who travels a lot.
So I ask all of you…next time you see
someone using their cell phone in public for private matters, yell
obscenities from behind them so that the person they are on the phone with
hears it. Do whatever is humanly possible to stop them from having a
decent conversation. If they walk away, follow them. That’ll
teach ’em.
