Well, more
or less, it's a week away from the big
"Jersey Girl" filming.Boy, is
the board getting interesting.
Fucking newbies abound. I think I
have counted over
20 "What does "NT" mean?" posts in the last week.
The regulars are having a field day with this. No one
is even ATTEMPTING to be nice anymore.
One thing I've noticed is that quite
a few of the Old
Timers are pretty scarce. Of course, they may have
changed their names again, and I just can't keep up
anymore. I was doing pretty good for awhile, but the
masking of identities (whether it be for a change,
bandwagonning, or just making fun of the
bandwaggoning) is really throwing me in a tailspin. I
don't read every thread by a long shot. I'm
"selective", picking either a FN thread which is
getting a lot of attention, or threads by people I
know can string a sentence together. But lately, it's
just too damn confusing. I'm probably missing some
good stuff, which is too bad.
We had some quality time with Kevin,
too. I admire
the guy, he answers the same 12 questions.
Repeatedly. And has been doing so for the last five
years. Never let it be said he doesn't give his all
to his fans. Even the stupid ones.
But yes, we're on the eve of filming.
Boards are not
lasting as long, as the threads come fast and furious.
They aren't even the usual polls and "which is
better" types that we've been seeing all summer. Now
we get people shrieking in horror over the casting of
Jennifer Lopez (which is SO last June!). There's a
smidge of infighting as well, which I have never
really understood. It's like we're all reading the
boards because we have a common interest. Yet people
can't seem to go 10 minutes without insulting the shit
out of each other. Maybe it's the nationwide
heatwave, maybe it's a feeble attempt to show who
Kevin "likes best".. sort of a sibling rivalry. All I
know is that a whole bunch of posters have been
wrapping their literary mitts around each other's
throats all week. I feel like getting a 5 gallon pail
of ice water, dumping it on their heads, and making
them sit in the corner for five minutes.
So it remains to be seen just how
wild this place is
going to get. My predictions?
1) The influx of idiots will
continue, much like the
swallows of Capistrano.
2) Occasional postings by Kevin,
Vincent and Lynch
will keep the Old Timers happy, and send the FN into
conniptions. The OT will take full advantage of these
fits to insult the shit out of the FN.
3) Affleck will not post. People will
ask constantly
where he is and when he'll be posting.
4) I predict TWO OT posters will
resurface over the
next two weeks. People will rejoice.
Let's see if I have a career like
Miss Cleo! Well,
maybe not quite so underhanded....
