Who Says Flowers Aren’t Sexy?

Tulips don’t grow in
Guatemala because it
never gets cold enough. However if a person is desperate enough, they can
do the freezer trick… which is to dig up the bulbs, freeze them and put them
back in the ground during the warmest season. I have a Dutch friend who is
that nuts about tulips and so when she invited me over to show me her garden
this is what I was confronted with.
The
painting is called “The Big Smile” as that is the actual name of the center
tulip. Most women and men who have seen this painting immediately make a
comment that is sexual. I didn’t see that when I looked at the actual
flowers but I do in the painting. I think nature was telling us something.
I’m
keeping this story short and sweet because a picture is worth 1000 words…
